Overview
This custom-built, self-contained and solar-powered 2020 Mercedes Sprinter camper van seats and sleeps up to 5 people with a second row of DOT-approved seats for 3 that fold up when not in use. Casper the Van comes with a complete kitchen with a big fridge/freezer, sink, hot water, induction stove, and InstantPot. A large table fits 5 people for eating and playing games inside the van on rainy days. An induction stove and extension cord let you cook outdoors on a picnic table. Casper comes with a complete set of dishes, tableware, cookware, and French Press coffee maker with a set of spices, tea, and coffee so you can make your morning coffee and spend more time relaxing! Casper has a compost toilet and hot shower for rinsing off and cleaning up. Instead of a propane tank or loud generator, Casper makes electricity with solar panels (525 watts) on the roof and a big bank of batteries as well as a 3000-watt inverter. This provides power for inside lighting, fans, USB ports, and refrigerator. The batteries store enough electricity to cook at least 3-4 meals for a family of 5 before recharging (by driving or via solar). Casper has a 25-gallon freshwater tank, a 4-gallon hot water heater, and a 10-gallon greywater tank with easy draining access under the van. Two roof fans and wool insulation keep the van cool in summer and an auxiliary cabin heater keeps the van warm for 4 season camping. Casper comes with a full set of insulated window shades for stealth camping and privacy. A Moonshade awning attaches to the van but is also portable for taking to the beach! There are screens for both the back doors and the sliding side door. Sleeping areas include a queen-sized bed at the top and an extra wide single on the bottom for one adult or 2 kids. There is also a "cab bunk" system for adding two kid-sized beds over the front seats. There is an internal bike rack large enough for up to 2 adult and 3 kid bikes. Save $ on hotels, restaurants, and rentals with this all-in-one adventure van with great fuel economy (between 20 and 26MPG). Here's a short video on how to use the electric system https://youtu.be/mdzmBv7NL0U Here is a short video to explain how to use the electric system! https://youtu.be/mdzmBv7NL0U Here's a short video on how to use the swivel seats and the second row of seats as well as the table. https://youtu.be/km7OrqrRS-k How do you use the van shower and toilet? One of the best things about the van is being able to take a hot shower at the end of a day of hiking or at the beach. The composting toilet has zero smells and is easy to use. Here's a video how to use the shower and toilet. https://youtu.be/OhxsdVbfydw How does the van shade awning work? We have a MoonShade detachable awning. It takes less than 10 minutes to set up on the van. We love it because we also take it with us to the beach as a shade tent. Here's a video to show how to put it up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ocLJXdEPnQ Here's a short video on where things are and how to pack the van https://youtu.be/_9zRzf92Tf0
